- Instructions on how to enter form part of the conditions of entry. By registering and participating entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. The “Forza Motorsport ® 2 Big Screen Challenge” (the “ Tournament ”) is a live skill based contest in which participants compete against other players on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system at Fox Studios until an overall winner is determined as described below.
- The promoter is Microsoft Pty Limited, ACN 002 589 460 of 1 Epping Road, North Ryde , New South Wales , 2113.
- Entry is open to Australian residents who are 15 years or older. Employees and their immediate families of the promoter, its retailers, suppliers and associated companies and agencies are not eligible to enter.
- The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any participant who the promoter believes either has tampered with the entry process or has submitted an entry that is not in accordance with these conditions of entry.
- To participate in the Tournament, players must register at www.xbox.com.au/ bigscreenchallenge between 09:00 AM AEST on May 1st, 2007 and 05:00 PM AEST on May 21st, 2007 (“ Registration Period ”). Limit 1 registration per participant.
- The Tournament will be held at the Entertainment Quarter (adjacent to Fox Studios), Bent Street Moore Park 2021, on 23 May 2007 from 07.00PM AEST through to 09.00PM AEST. P layers will compete on the custom-fitted Xbox 360 utes to be the fastest on the Suzuka track. 1 lap time trial. Unlimited multiple attempts are allowed during the qualification period; however, once a player has had an attempt, they must wait for all other registered players to record a lap time before they will be able to have another attempt. The top time recorded will count as the player's official time in the Tournament.
- At approximately, 09:00PM AEST on May 23 , 2007 , the Official Forza Motorsport 2 Big Screen Challenge rankings will be recorded, and the top 8 highest ranking eligible Tournament players will be deemed the finalists (“ Finalists ”).
- The 8 Finalists will then compete on the big screen at 09.00PM AEST to determine the overall winner and runner-up placings. The overall winner will be determined using an elimination format. The 8 Finalists will play in single quarter final elimination. The winners of the quarter final (top 4) will play in the semi final. The winners of the semi final (top 2) will play in the grand final.
- At the conclusion of the Forza Motorsport 2 Big Screen Challenge grand final, prizes will be awarded as follows:
- The overall winner will win $5,000 cash, a limited edition Forza Motorsport 2 Airbrushed Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system and 3 x Xbox 360 games (titles at the discretion of the promoter). First prize is valued at $6,097.00 (incl GST).
- The runner-up will receive $1,000 cash, a limited edition Forza Motorsport 2 Airbrushed Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and 3 x Xbox 360 games (titles at the discretion of the promoter). The runner-up prize is valued at $2,097.00 (incl GST).
- The third and fourth place winners each will win $500 cash and 3 x Xbox 360 games (titles at the discretion of the promoter). The third and fourth placed prizes are valued at $697.00 (incl GST) each.
- The fifth to eighth place winners each will win 3 x Xbox 360 games (titles at the discretion of the promoter) valued at $197.00 (incl GST) each.
- Total number prizes = 8 . Total prize value = $10,179.00 (incl GST). Prizes are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash, except the cash element of the prizes. If the promoter is unable to supply the nominated prize, the promoter reserves the right to supply another prize of greater or equal value. Winners will be sent their prizes within four weeks following the conclusion of the Tournament.
- The first 400 registered participants who attend the Challenge also will receive a free ticket to the movie “28 Days Later” to be screened at the Challenge from 09:30PM . The free ticket is valid for this screening only.
- This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
- The promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for entry registrations not received by the promoter. Entries will be deemed void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
- All entry registrations are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the promotion database and not at the time of transmission by the entrant. Any form of automated entry using other devices or software is invalid.
- The stated prize value is the recommended retail value (including GST) in Australia as provided by the supplier and is correct at the time of printing. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize. The promoter and its associated agencies and companies accept no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
- The names of the Tournament winner and runners up will be posted on the internet at www.xbox.com.au/bigscreenchallenge immediately after the conclusion of the Tournament.
- In the event that a prize is not claimed the promoter will select an alternate winner to receive the prize.
- If a winner of the prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner subject to the prior written consent of the winner's parent or legal guardian. The promoter may make such inquiries as it deems necessary to satisfy itself that such consent has been obtained.
- Subject to any applicable law which cannot be excluded, the promoter and its related bodies corporate shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the promotion or any prize.
- The promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be acting in violation of these terms or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person (as determined by the promoter).
- Any costs associated with entering the Tournament and accessing the registration website are the responsibility of the entrant.
- The promoter assumes no responsibility for, and the entrant releases the promoter from responsibility for, any failure to receive an entry registration or for inaccurate information or for any loss, claim, damage or injury to person or property (including computer systems and servers) as a result of the entrant's participation in this promotion or the conduct of the Tournament generally or as a direct or indirect result of an entrant's error, any technical problem of any kind including communications or network failure, unauthorised access to, transferring or theft of data, whether caused by the entrant or associated with the equipment or programming used in the conduct of this Tournament. If, because of any such problem, this Tournament is not able to be conducted as planned and/or the Tournament's administration, security, fairness or integrity are compromised or affected, the promoter may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Tournament and/or disqualify any entrant involved in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this Tournament in any way.
- Details from all entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the Tournament) and for publicity purposes surrounding this Tournament. By entering this Tournament entrants consent to the use of their information as described. Entrants may access and/or change their data by following the procedures in the promoter's privacy policy which is available at www.microsoft.com/australia/privacy or contacting v-kumarm@microsoft.com after the Tournament. The promoter will only use your personal details for marketing purposes outside those described above if you “opt in” to join the mailing list when prompted.
